In Nusa Dua you still can explore hidden treasures in the form of secret beaches. To figure out the exact locations you should ask the hotel staff. Tip: Ask for the Umbrella Beach (Pantai Gunung Payung)!

Tanjung Benoa also belongs to Nusa Dua, the best known area for water sports in Bali. It is worth spending a full day in Tanjung Benoa. Start the day with activities on the ocean such as fly fishing, banana boating, jet skiing and/or parasailing. Spa after your lunch and enjoy some afternoon cocktails later in one of the beach clubs situated in Tanjung Benoa. Finally complete your day with a nice dinner in one of Tanjung Benoa’s seafood restaurants.

Bali’s newest achievement, the bridge from Nusa Dua to Sanur, makes your day tours to Ubud and other major hot spots in the north-eastern part of Bali easier by far as you can avoid the traffic around  the Ngurah Rai Airport. Also it offers a great opportunity to explore the lovely Sanur at least once. Sanur is the perfect mix of Kuta, Jimbaran, Nusa Dua, and Seminyak and stands for a little bit of everything. Sanur’s wonderful beach promenade invites you for a nice afternoon stroll before sitting down to a delicious seafood dinner.

All in, Nusa Dua is the perfect place for vacationers, looking for high end accommodation. It guarantees you all that and more. The new bridge project has made life easier and Sanur is now just a stones throw away. Nusa Dua is highly recommended to everybody of all ages, apart from party people.

You will love this area!

10 tips - Things to do in Nusa Dua

What to do in Bali – What to do in Kuta
Tip 1 - Enjoy togetherness at Bali’s most hidden beach

Drive to Nusa Dua where you can still explore hidden treasures in the form of secret beaches. To figure out the exact locations you should ask the hotel staff. Tip: Ask for the Umbrella Beach (Pantai Gunung Payung)! Use the bike to go there and don’t forget to bring your towel, food and drinks. Under regular circumstances, Umbrella Beach stands for togetherness but you should be aware of the fact that there are a lot of stairs down the cliff that have to be managed until you can enjoy this wonderful and secret beach.

Tip 2 - Stroll along Sanur’s ocean promenade

As mentioned, with the New Bridge Project, Sanur is just minutes away. Sanur should be visited at least once as it is a mix of Kuta, Seminyak, Jimbaran and Nusa Dua. This village offers a little bit of everything and everything here is in moderation. This is also valid for the prices and the traffic. A highlight in Sanur is clearly the nice beach promenade. Stroll along it or hire a bicycle in case you are too lazy. Get a full hour massage, directly on the beach for about 6-8 USD (Don’t forget to bargain). Even moderate watersports opportunities are available. In the end it doesn’t matter what you are looking for, Sanur is able to offer it.

Top Tip 3 - Have seafood dinner at Jimbaran Bay

Eat seafood at Jimbaran Bay at least once! For commission reasons, drivers on Bali will probably want to force you to go somewhere else (prices can be three times more expensive there). Refuse that and get them  to take you to the Warungs (local restaurants) between the Intercontinental Resort Jimbaran and the Four Season Resort Jimbaran. One of the most popular Warungs is called Nyoman’s Café. In case Nyomans Café is not available at the place you have been taken to, you should complain. Obviously, if you feel comfortable, hiring a bike it is highly recommended and you should go there on your own. It shouldn't take more than 30 minutes to go there from every place in Nusa Dua.

Tip 4 - Go to BTDC (Bali Tourism Development Cooperation)

Tip Number 4 has no value to you if you are staying at Ayodya Bali Resort or other hotels located in the Bali Tourism Development Cooperation Complex. To all other vacationers it should be mentioned that BTDC is a real Tourism Enclave in Nusa Dua. The BTDC complex stands for pure luxury and plenty of 5 star properties can be found there. Only tourists, staff and visitors have access to this area. BTDC has a sophisticated shopping area which includes Bali Collection, a store offering everything from clothes to western food. Plenty of shops and restaurants are situated in the BTDC which guarantees that you will not have any problems finding your preferred dish. Don’t forget to check out The Bay!

Tip 5 - Go to Klapa Beach Club or El Kabron Beach Club for sundowner cocktails

Enjoy sunset cocktails at one of these two locations as they are situated directly on the cliff with stunning sunset views. Both are located in the Bukit, not far from each other. The way to El Kabron is very exciting as you have to drive down a very steep hill. Make sure your brakes work well before setting off! Both, El Kabron and Klapa are classified as Beach Bars and offer you the possibility to jump in their pool as well. Don’t forget to bring your shorts and/or swimming suit!!!

Tip 6 - Go to Uluwatu Temple (Pura Luhur Uluwatu)

Nusa Dua’s Number 1 sightseeing place is Uluwatu Temple (Pura Luhur Uluwatu) as it belongs to Bali’s six major temples. In case you feel comfortable, don’t use a taxi or driver to go there. Use a scooter or motorbike. It is fun and a real adventure. For those who don’t feel comfortable, obviously a half day tour can be booked. Uluwatu Temple is at maximum 45 minutes away from your location! In the event that you like Thai Food, on the way back to Nusa Dua, after your stop at Klapa Beach Club or El Kabron for cocktails, it is highly recommended to stop at Kats Kitchen:

Tip 7 - Watch Professional Surfers

Jimbaran has very nice beaches offering the best surfing opportunities in Bali. Hire a bike and follow Jalan Uluwatu to the south. You don’t even need a map as you will be automatically guided to the right spots by the road. In case the impossible happens and you really do get lost, you will sooner or later meet some surfers who will help you to find the best beaches.

Tip 8 - Hire a scooter or motorbike

The Traffic on Jalan Uluwatu in Jimbaran can be heavy from time to time but generally spoken, it also allows beginners to hire a scooter and have a drive around. Do it at least once and explore Bali’s southern most area, Jimbaran and Nusa Dua, with their wonderful beaches on the bike. (Rent about 5 USD a day)

Tip 9 - See Jimbaran Fish Market

Jimbaran still has a fisherman’s village charm. Obviously with fisherman’s village belongs a fish market. Go to see the fish market at least once. Ask the hotel staff when the best time to go is so that you can see the ‘new arrivals’ and the hustle bustle at the market. Warning: It can be a little smelly and the standard of hygiene is probably a little different to what you are expecting. Use the bike and avoid tours or taxis.
